As for rebuilding Ukraine, you may have to learn Russian and tell them you're Canadian. Opioid addiction is very corrosive to society, but that's really why America hung around in Afghanistan so long; it's profitable (for some). Ukraine it was that excellent farmland... but that's all full of mines now. How about a career in bomb disposal? That would help; probably well paid; but again you'd need to understand the language... Going to Ukraine is very risky; I'd advise against that.
