There was an agreement between Russia and Ukraine; others cosigned it (so they should know what it meant) and the concept was for a neutral country to be a buffer between NATO/EU and Russia. It material terms there was a division USSR assets; Russia paid to lease a port; paid tariffs on a gas pipeline; Ukraine kept nuclear power; Russia took back it's nuclear weapons (decommissioned, with American helping foot the bill) it was all agreeable back in 1994. Then the EU sent "aid"; America sent "investment; foreign companies took control of all aspects of Ukrainian agriculture; odd energy deals were made (see H Biden); America protested alternative gas routes (as tariffs increased); they weren't interested in neutrality, they came to profit. Unfortunately neutrality, in Russia's view was not negotiable. While all this Western charity, wasn't charity at all; it was an incentive and Russia told the West it would be war if they didn't stop pushing (but our leaders don't listen, even to us). Now, all that farmland is full of munitions; the energy deals are dead (EU cut off) and that rebuilding contract might be worthless too... You reap what you sow. You can trust Russia, the Western interests knew about the special military operation well before (while the media kept us guessing. It was neutrality, or war! (they chose war).

@yurichtube1162 After foreign companies moved in to take control of Ukrainian agriculture and the EU gas supply pipeline; it's clear the Minsk accord meant nothing to them; but now all their "investment" has been trashed. I doubt: America or UK will be required to sign any more agreements; that Russia will stop or there will be a NATO intervention (without it sparking WW3). It doesn't look good for Ukraine; while America bringing gifts, usually means they want something. The Minsk accords meant more to Russia, now everyone knows. Shame about Ukraine.
