@jimpaddy79 The short road to fascism is when private sector (profit seeking) companies get to make the rules, because: the national objective soon becomes about their profit margin; they can divert public money to that end and even use the law to block or eliminate competition (The usual result is a "rich persons club" the vast majority aren't in). These large transnational corporations that lobby political parties (giving money, gifts, or a seat on the board) are obviously not doing this for charitable reasons; but increasing their profit margin is a poor national objective, while those opposing this arrangement are viewed as outsiders, or the enemy. (The usual result is war; foreign or domestic). If there are only two political parties both backed by corporations; the priority becomes financial profit... and people are just numbers, or cannon-fodder, in their grand scheme.
