  1. Mair bollocks frae "China Observer"; Cantonese cuisine is world famous; you might want to check some of the ingredients in our food (like hydrogenated cooking oil; E-numbers and GM food). It's not even the high sugar and salt levels; some Western farming practices (pesticides; misuse of antibiotics and fertilizer over-spill); at best, this is the pot trying to call the kettle black!

  2.  @CCP-Dissident  Certainly they can; only this channel and another "Serpentza" don't do that; they specialize in negative publicity and while that might appeal to some, a lot of what they publish is "spin". That's not to say there aren't things to criticize about Chinese cuisine (they eat cats and dogs, in Hainan), but the fact that Chinese (mainly Cantonese) cuisine became a world-wide phenomenon, suggests it's probably okay. If you are in China; you'll find the street markets do a roaring trade; if a restaurant is full of local people, eat there and it's only because I can't read Chinese that I ordered snake soup (tastes like chicken) from the Dim Sum trolley in a: massive; well appointed, restaurant in Hong Kong. While thousand year eggs, and bird nest soup really aren't my thing; Hainese Chicken rice; Kway Teow and Laksa are a positive delight. This site is "at it"; I don't know who pays them, but I regard them as dishonest.
