  1. Yes it's hard to argue with that insightful point Cam. I have found it is easier to get through life if you presume everybody is mad. Nice of the firesteel1 to post the speech, but the accompanying comment seems to make the claim ...... it was not him but a big boy that did it; who then ran away .... or that the English are somehow weak minded and easily led anywhere. The English voters got the government they voted for, I'm ideologically opposed to (crony) capitalism; but trying to claim the Scots did this ... that is just too funny ...I agree hahaha.

  2. firesteel1 I'm a Scottish socialist; I thought Mhairi Black made a very powerful maiden speech and I don't believe your claim (I even wonder if you do). The English voters almost always decide which party will govern the UK (only once since WW2 have the Scottish seats been a deciding factor and once again had the Libdems formed a coalition with Labour, the election before); the English gave the Tories a majority and if you are claiming the English were somehow scared of the SNP (with a maximum possible 59 seats) then you seem to be claiming the English are a bit weak minded. It seems to me: that the collapse of the Libdems gave the Tories a majority; with the Tories (+0.8%) and Labour (+1.5%) both increasing their share of the vote your hypothesis appears to be dead in the water and while the destruction of Scottish Labour, by the SNP, was comprehensive; it didn't affect the final result (and it was for different reasons than Labour not gaining Libdem seats in England). My best guess is that Labour can thank Tony Blair for their "insufficient success" because by spreading ideological confusion as he tried to turn Labour into "Tory Light" it was difficult to decide who Labour thought they represented. Really I think it's time for the English to stop trying to blame others; they got the government they voted for, Scotland (and the other UK countries) did not and trying to blame the SNP (for what?) for forcing the English to vote for something they didn't want?! That is a bit far fetched, to say the least. So you believed the Tories in their claim that socialism would be damaging to UK citizens? Must you English continue to behave like Mooncalves, did the fortunes of the Libdems tell you nothing about how the Tories work? It seems not. All I can say is that runnng on a socialist ticket did the SNP no harm at all; they won a landslide victory. The English voted for a party that: doubled UK national debt; missed every one of its economic targets and helped wrecked Libya. No; clearly the joke is on you firesteel1 ... either the English voters are: weak minded; easily cowed or perhaps they will buy anything from someone with a cut glass accent. The SNP did better than even they thought they would and they have 56/650 seats. Maybe it's the dumbing down of the English education system or perhaps the mainstream media can brainwash some by using repetition ... but either way look what you did; thanks to you the UK will continue to be asset stripped.
