  2. Anybodies guess: it would depend on the reason for the visit; on who's behalf, but I can't see any positive outcome. "Liz Truss has said that China is the biggest threat to the free world and urged the West to unify when dealing with as she arrives in Taiwan" (The Times). From my experience of China, that's fighting talk; it might equally be argued that Liz and her sponsors are the biggest threat to the free world; both ROC and PRC might say, 滾你的蛋 It means "roll away you turtles egg" (get lost). I doubt the Chinese will take lectures from a back bench MP; we know she is a liability (and so will they); EU sanctions (11th round) include Chinese companies, China will respond they say. I suggest the UK government considers damage limitation and when to mind it's own business; stop annoying everyone.
