@Comm.DavidPorter America did seem awfully interested in the pipeline between Russia and the EU, running through Ukraine; hostile to proposed alternatives (later destroyed) then Russia turned of the EU gas supply (non-payment), so no gas tariffs for Ukraine. The millions of hectares of Ukrainian farmland that foreign corporations leased are in a war-zone; their labs and grain loading facilities closed down, or destroyed; the rebuilding contract also likely worthless. It looks like somebody had their foot on the EU gas pipe... There was a lot of interest in Ukrainian assets; billions "invested"; the value of investments can go up or down, but the plan to separate the EU from Russia seems to have worked.

"Military aid"; such a curious term; I should apply.

@jamesdixon2860 China isn't interested in American power games (they already made that clear); war isn't good for business and a lot of countries don't share American interests; nothing in it for them. The EU and America gave Ukraine billions, they aren't known to be charitable (even to their own people); but foreign corporations buying into Ukraine not only annoyed EU farmers, but upset quite a few others, one being a nuclear superpower. Ukraine agreed neutrality or war, with Russia; Ukraine chose war, so war it is... Ukraine had independence from USSR, by 1994; as USSR returned the map of Europe to 1938 borders; it was a sovereign; neutral democracy and now it is not. What is this winning you talk of(?) they've lost the lot; we can talk about Russian defeat after the nuclear war; but Ukraine is in hock to the West (they want to own it). I don't see where Canada comes into this; it's signed up to the American led whatever it is... so is the UK and France. Russia and China are the enemy, c'mon; get with the program! War pays! (Cheney) no it's us. What else do you want to give Ukraine? (it's your money); they've had billions already; while the world is on the edge on a world war. Russia isn't going to back down, not this time.

@jamesdixon2860 Just keep drinking the Cool-Aid: the globalists are just here to help Ukraine; system working send more money; war is peace (snarf) and they lost, NATO Bot.

I doubt Ukraine will see much of that; if you are as cynical as the UK government buy shares in arms companies; those talking about millions and billions are not exactly trustworthy...

@garyddlewis3067 That's not legal in the UK (although it is a major exporter), while there is a massive industry in preventing it being shipped back. That's a different game... The best potholes are in Amsterdam; here it's just overpriced frothy coffee and donuts, I'm sure I could put £3,000,000,000 to better use.

@garyddlewis3067 Well at least the non-addictive ones; the British Empire and all that Opium (bit naughty that); I also have a fair bit of experience of the Moscow casinos (now banned) during the break up of USSR; if America wants a big war they've come to the right people.

The gliders can take evasive action; no heat signature, can't be "jammed", while Russia can attack six cities simultaneously... while debris from missile meets anti-missile missile has to land somewhere, so they are a problem.

It's a rejection of "globalism"; that's where the rich: exploit the poor; export public money to tax havens and fight for them, one day you can live on the streets. Glad to see the back of that.

If America fires missiles at mainland Russia; they get to fire missiles at mainland America, using Ukraine as an excuse doesn't work; it would likely be a world war then. While I really don't believe the "Games Workshop" scenario; Russia knows a lot about land-war in Europe (ask Germany) and the Ukrainian ministry figures are fanciful; outside this bubble Russia is just leaning on Ukraine largely to show why tearing up neutrality agreements is a very bad idea. How Ukraine destroyed 8000+/3000 Russian tanks is still a mystery.

For America, it's occupying 20% of Syria (the oil fields) their troops are still there, their attempted regime change failed, that time. Syria had to ask Russia for help to stop that.
