America still has troops occupying the Syrian oil fields and they did back ISIS before; it hardly looks like a coincidence that this has kicked off again; things must be going badly for America in Ukraine. Russia has a refueling facility in Syria; they were previously invited in to support the Assad government; while the American troops were not. America wants oil.

@karylhogan5758 Iran has the S-300 and Hormuz-2 (anti-ship) and possibly the S-400 missile system(s); while it appears the carrier USS Eisenhower was hit multiple times by Yemen's Houti (this claim was disputed by two (unnamed) US officials, but the carrier is currently out of commission, in Souda Bay, Crete) and if there's war between Iran/Israel and the Strait of Hormuz closes, it will affect global oil prices. How many foreign conflicts is America involved in now, is it 4 or 5? Underwater drones can cause a lot of damage; since they hit below the water-line; while due to advances in hypersonic technology, aircraft carriers and tanks are so 20th century.

Some decorum, please. The UK government (again) supporting American far-right interests before its own people and they might be required here; they're pissin' people off.

@mikeqofiy3693 The North Korean troops appear to be invisible; same with the over 9,000 tanks Ukraine claims to have destroyed; while Russia is still advancing there. This recent plan of America firing missiles at Russia (at the risk of starting a world war) stinks of desperation; this American proxy war in Eastern Europe was always a bad idea...

@Robert-uy1gd Tanks (and Aircraft Carriers) while not obsolete are 20th century weapons; improvements in missile technology leave them vulnerable without some form of air-cover and West of Bakhmut I'm told is flat open ground that gets muddy. While these 21st century armed robot drones are a sign of incompetence or insanity. Robots make excellent workers, but use them as: police judges or soldiers (it's like no-one reads science fiction) and it ends badly. Look at the carnage when used against tribal people with no air defenses; but unless we all want to appear in a video game with a points total above our heads this needs to stop. Short answer, a bit of both; Russia has home field advantage.

I assume they had some of their own. It's a pretty big claim, but if true; I guess America won't be sending those tanks (in December).

@johnMcHale-j5s I just said it appeared that way... since it's easy enough to fake things these days and a lot of commentators seem to be children. So USS Eisenhower has left and gone away now; Associated Press journalists say it had a leaky pipe; meanwhile merchant shipping companies operating in the Red Sea are finding it difficult to get insurance, for some reason. Reports vary but some claim that up to 50 merchant vessels have been attacked; while others say Hootie and the Blowfish are as good as they've always been; however aircraft carriers are increasingly vulnerable now, due to improvements in missile technology (there's little dispute about that).
