@ImportedFromSerbia Money has come a long way from just being a method to simplify the exchange of goods and services; it's a system that relies on trust and if money can be printed to order, or some try to substitute "debt obligation" (plus interest) as currency this threatens to bring the whole system into disrepute. It should be noted that when (your) money is deposited in a bank: legally it belongs to the bank; if the bank is robbed it's the bank's money, not yours, that was stolen. While there are peculiar things going on in the "invisible banking sector" (like betting money one doesn't have on things that don't exist; like next years orange crop); I wonder what the legal position is regarding freezing foreign investments and handing out the interest due on it? It already seems clear financial rules are being made up as they go along; some seem to believe money has mystical properties and will follow profit over a cliff edge, some traders can even "make money" from money; but the good news is the banks will grant visitation rights, to the money deposited, in most cases. It's a funny old game...
