China already has a well established nuclear power industry: 56 reactors, plus another 27 (PHWR) under construction; while they already said, "Don't try to involve us in American power games... we have good trading relations with both Russia and Ukraine". I've no doubt China would sell Russia components (chips; shovels; washing machines etc), but supplying weapons to Russia would likely draw them into a "game" (with nothing in it for them). The reason for China building more nuclear reactors would be that reliance on coal is generating a lot of air pollution; while occupying a lot of the rail network transporting it; while they favour the pressurized heavy water water design (PHWR), which my father (when he was an inspector in the nuclear power industry) described as "more expensive and safer"; over the Russian RBMK (high-power channel-type) and the LWR (Light Water Reactor) that America uses. China is already self-sufficient when it comes to reactor construction and design. Russia has a lot of raw materials and China has a demand for their: oil; gas and grain; so I expect they will construct a pipeline and rail link, while continuing to collaborate on other construction projects (in places like Africa etc). Both Russia and China have their own suppliers of Uranium (maybe keep your eye on Namibia... a major exporter). It may be simpler for the Western media to claim its America (and it's allies) v Russia and China (in a Ukrainian proxy war); but I don't think that's true or that Zeihan is anything more than a PR man for those (imo) playing a very dangerous game, indeed. While calling the two main American parties "left" and "right" just occupies the political spectrum; both are funded by Wall St and corporations; so the vote (in Nov) is likely to be war, or war? War doesn't really suit the Chinese "business model"; nor does exposure to having assets confiscated; so I think China; Russia and some other countries want to leave the West behind. I'm not sure if China is "against" America, but I am sure it doesn't support American interests or playing financial sector games where the rules say they can't ever win. Really there are quite pressing matters here (and now); exporting funds and guns to far away places is really starting to anger people (probably because there's nothing in it for them).
