Or Lucille Ball without whose production company there would likely be no Star Trek or Mission Impossible. One of Time magazine's "100 Most Important People of the Century" . Talent and a fierce work ethic (as you say), innovative; shaped the film industry. KK's excuses don't stand up to close scrutiny, the public don't seem to be buying what she's selling.

@mikemontgomery2654 It's the fall in ticket sales (or drop in TV ratings) that seem to be a major decision factor; while I can only think of the Harry Potter series that kept public interest to part seven (never won one single Oscar tho') so I would suggest decisions are largely based on money (and there's a lot of office politics). According to William Goldman (Adventures in the Screen Trade) "Nobody knows" (what makes a "blockbuster" movie) so no guaranteed formula for success, but newly appointed studio heads often trash the work of the last (in case it makes them look bad); but low returns on big budgets is usually fatal for one's career. Not sure to what madness you refer: KK was part of a winning team; they cashed out and Disney seem to have "dropped the ball"; making insipid stuff. I do recall being told, that the boss of the company was arriving shortly and before that happens I would like you to imagine how many people she has: kicked in the teeth; stood on and stabbed in the back to get to where she is today... Do you understand me gentlemen? (and we said, yes we did). KK strikes me as similar; but Disney is all about profit and whatever they are doing is not profitable. Hate to say it but love of money rather than love of the medium seems to have tarnished two great franchises.
