funkyfiss I'm pretty sure the majority of people like it... considering any movie site's rating (atleast the ones i know of). Lowest grossing best picture winner of all time? Since when does that prove that people like it, rather than proving that people just want to see it. And considering it grossed 17 mill (in the USA) when the widest it expanded was 535 theatres, it did pretty well.
That article is about how realistic (or lack thereof) the movie is. And calling it the worst war movie ever is a bit exaggerated considering Uwe Boll made a war movie once.. I recognize that the realism is blown out of proportion in The Hurt Locker, but lets look at it as a movie - pretty good.
I don't think the Oscars, of all the award shows, would be rigged. I can see things like the Critics Choice, Peoples Choice, Teens Choice and Kids Choice Awards being rigged, but not for a big organization like the Academy. I mean, they hire PWC to count their ballots. If it was rigged, PWC would plummet.
It doesn't confirm that it's still rigged. It confirms that I didn't research it further. It also confirms that there may not be any articles about them changing or not changing the rules.
