Ang Lee has won two Oscars for directing. When you look on the IMDb page of his winnings, you see that it doesn't have a note saying "Ang Lee is the first director to win more than one directing awards" as it would if he was the first.

Calvin Candie is the dragon who is keeping Broomhilda locked away, and Django is the prince who goes through hell fire (the shootout) to save Broomhilda.

"Haven't you see the trailers, it says "the film that touched a generation". Did people write this because the film is shit ?" No. They wrote it to sell the movie. The Baby analogy was rather good. Titanic isnt the single most nominated film. It was a tie when you actually said it was the "single most nominated film", and now its a three-way tie.

  88. Gencturk92 Because Titanic had the best technical elements, meanwhile Pulp Fiction wasn't a movie devoted to technicals. Its not like Titanic got 11 Best Picture awards. It got visual effects, sound mixing, sound editing, score, song, film editing etc (I'm only guessing for most of those). I don't see how Pulp Fiction connects to Titanic. They came out in different years, and Pulp Fiction didnt have original songs, original scores, no visual effects besides some practical effects (they dont usually get Oscars) etc. The interesting thing about the two is that Pulp Fiction won a screenplay award, and Titanic wasn't even nominated for one.

  90. Gencturk92 -_- you should read up on your history. DVDs were 1995, so VHS tapes definitely weren't 1997. If you read closely, what you saw probably actually says Titanic is the first movie to be released on VHS and DVD while it was still being played in theatres.

And distributors usually want as much profit as possible while movies are in theatres. Titanic probably got enough back, but was still making money anyhow.
