1. Gripen let the Globaleye spot targets for it, which is the best spy plane with a 10 times better radar than F35. And who the hell would fly a spy plane with a radar switched on? It would be like driving around a submarine and sending out pings all over the ocean and telling all nearby ships "here i am!!".
2. Gripen carry the meteor missile which is the best air-to-air missile in the world today. American spy planes cannot fit that long range missile inside their tiny bombload box. So that gives Gripen yet another advantage.
3. F35 is not a real 5th generation aircraft since it cannot supercruise. However if one would define 5th generation as high degree of stealth and sensor fusion, then Gripen E is truely a 5th generation aircraft.
And given that drones with a smaller size on the radar than the F35 has been shot down during the war in Ukraine, could one question how important a low radar cross section really is. The Russian S-400 air defence is good at detecting stealth aircrafts, but vulnerable to electronic warfare. So in that case would Gripen be more survivable.
Gripen is also better in most other aspects. Its faster, it can make tighter turns, and this video is incorrect as Gripen got much longer range than the F35. Its 8 times cheaper to fly, which means that pilots can get 8 times as much training - and as the saying at Top Gun goes, the important thing is the pilot and not the plane. So the side with the most well trained pilots are the ones that usually wins an air war.
Nor is this plane a hangar queen, nor does it need an army of technicians on the ground to keep it running, and its sortie rate is outclassing F35.
This video also forgot to mention that F35 got half as many hardpoints as Gripen, which means that it normally can carry less cargo than Gripen.
It can of course carry weapons on external pylons, but then it got no stealth left - and F35 is just a one-trick pony that got nothing else going for it, so it will never fly that way and claiming so in this video is just dishonest. F35 can of course try to fly unstealthy, but I doubt its owners would ever dare take the prestige loss of losing one stealth plane for an average mission. Especially considering that it is worse than all other 4.5 generation fighters at everything... Eurofighter, Gripen, Rafale, and even the stone age Super Hornet do all have superior thrust-to-weight ratios and wingloading compared to F35. Without stealth is F35 objectivly the worst fighter one can buy... more expensive and underperforming.
And that is despite it having the most powerful fighter engine ever made, with a thrust twice that of Gripen, and yet is it unable to fly fast because of all drag that makes it both fuel thirsty, and lacking of endurance, costly to fly and bad at dogfighting.
