As an outsider looking into America I just shake my head. There are still gun nuts who will refuse to change status quo. And there are still people who think that legalizing drugs will have no negative consequences 🙄 History repeats itself over and over and stupid people refuse to accept responsability. This have given me contempt for humanity 🤮

@hogsandstews " I’m just refuting op’s point that anyone that wouldn’t rush in is a terrible person. Being scared does not make you a terrible person." I understand what you mean. I simply does not agree. What you say might suffice as an explanation for their behaviour, but it is no excuse. And sure is everyone scared in combat in war. Every soldier is. But every soldier has to overcome his own fear to not get himself and his comrades killed. And if you are a soldier and a policeman you must be able to control your own fear - otherwise you do not belong in your uniform simple as that. That might sound harsh, but that is the truth. Who is the profession responsible for making a crime scene safe? - The police. And no one else. "Do some research on the parasympathetic nervous system." Even if you are a big coward that piss your pants and shake uncontrollably you should in such a situation take a deep breath, repeat what you have learned in your drills. You should be hyperfocused on solving your task at hand... and so much so that you overcome your own fear. And what can be a bigger motivator to do something than rescuing some small innocent kids from getting murdered? Could you even live with yourself afterwards if you decided to not do something? For me is the choice easy. I go in and try to stop the gunman. I might die, but so be it. I cannot let 75 kids just die. Even if I was just an armed civilian I would go in if the police did not do their job. And the police should go in. Because this is their job. I am so tired of all this talk "but no one should be expected to die at work"... well I disagree, soldiers and policemen will have to take that risk. With good weapons, equipment, training and tactics should the risk of dying be minimized - but it cannot be eliminated. And if you don't think you can overcome your own fear to save a school kids from getting slaughtered... well then you should take another career. I have no problems with cowards. I have problems with cowards becoming policemen because they do not belong there in the police force.

Could just a few lives have been saved it would have been worth a try

Took the police an hour before they got to the shooters room during the Las Vegas mass shooting. By then he had shot over 800 people... and things could have been even worse if he choosen to keep on firing on the crowds instead of taking a break and then committing suicide. Had he kept on firing for a half an hour more then surely would over a thousand been injured and over a hundred had been killed.

The gunman was latino. The kids was latino. The teachers were latino. So it would not surprise me if the police also were latino. And even someone who does not like Mexican immigration should have enough heart to save innocent 7 year old kids from getting killed in cold blood. I therefore suspect this has to do with cowardice of the policemen. And it is not the first time it happens either. When a mass shooting in Las Vegas happened and over 800 people (nearly all whites) was casualties, it still took an hour for the policemen to get into the room of the shooter at Mandalay Bay hotel. Had the gun man not stopped firing by himself after 20 minutes and committed suicide. Then I think he could have been able to kill over a hundred people and injure many hundreds more. I am not a brave person. But even f**king I would do the only sensible thing and go in and capture or kill a mass murderer before he will harm more people. Had I been a policeman it WOULD HAVE BEEN MY FECKING JOB!! Not only is it a duty for a police to protect those who cannot protect themselves. It is also their f**king job to clear and secure an area. No ambulances can go into an area as long as someone is firing - as that could only result in even more people getting killed. So this incompetent policeman also prevent other blue light personnel from doing their job. And when someone is quickly losing blood it is important to quickly stop the bleeding and stabilize the patients condition enough so it does not die in the ambulance while it is being transported to a hospital and could get life saving surgery, blood components and help from doctors with deep knowledge about the human body. An ambulance is not a hospital. You cannot fit in as much big machines and tools into it. It is a taxi with a few tools in it that can stabilize a patients condition. But you cannot do surgery and such inside an ambulance. So had I worked on an ambulance I would have been furious on behalf on my patients that those incompetent cowardly policemen just let die.

Now this useless policemen can feel ashamed for the rest of their lives. Feel the guilt. Look at their badge and know that they have failed at their mission of serve and protect, and know that they suck at their job and that they are not worth their salary. How can you live with yourself after this cowards?
