If we do not punish criminal behaviour, then you only encourage more of it to be done in the future. Therefore should russia not be given any concessions at all. It should be punished for the many crimes it have committed. This is a chance for the western world to use russia to set an example to all other criminal states around the world. In that way could putler help to create long lasting peace worldwide.

I doubt that. For many reasons. 1. Russia military expenses are larger are currently larger than the state income. And the Russian states savings are running out. 2. Russia is running out of artillery shells and gun barrels. Russia is now deploying T-55 and T-54 tanks and WW2 Howitzers to be used as artillery in Ukraine. Most likely because they have runned out of modern artillery pieces. And old and rusty artillery ammunition is being put to use and ammunition have been imported from North Korea which suggests that todays levels of artillery consumption is unsubstainable. 3. Russia is running low on missiles. Russia is firing anti-ship missiles and S-300 anti-aircraft missiles against Ukrainian housing because they lack cruise missiles. And the few cruise missiles they fire have all been manufactured recently - which will indicate that russia have runned out of all their old missiles in storage. 4. Russias manpower losses is so severe that they cannot be easily replaced. 200k men dead and 400k wounded are losses too heavy to replace. To replace so many losses will you have to do a full mobilization - which is unpopular and risky for Putin in an election year. And to make matters worse are the men poorly trained, equipped and motivated. Ukraines military have of course also suffered painful losses, but the men have a good reason to fight, and the west can provide their troops with at least some training even if the Ukrainian army would take the same heavy losses as the russian professional army did in 2022. Furthermore is there a potential for Ukrainian troops to out do the russians in quality equipmen - which we already see in for example nightvision and better medical care. 5. Ukraine will soon getting long-range missiles they have waited for, such as ATACMS will could be a game changer allowing Ukraine to not just destroy the Kerch bridge but also severly destroy russian logistics in any proximity to the battelfield, and thus destroying russias ability to fight well in a coordinated way. Add to that a few hundred stormshadow missiles. And on top of that also Turkish long range rocket artillery and you will have some good long range capabilities of the Ukrainian military. And aircraft and small diameter bombs will the HIMARS style problems only getting worse for Russia. The few extra Norwegian M270 launchers with twice as much fire power as HIMARS will mean that now will an equal amount to a dozen extra HIMARS rain down death and destruction of russian forces each day. Ukraine is also getting more tanks sent to it. Not just from Spain, Denmark and the Netherlands... but there will also probably be more future surprises as Switzerland and Israel provide tanks to western allies, which in turn will free up other tanks to be sent to Ukraine. So the clock is not ticking in Russias favor. The russian defensive line may hold for a few weeks more, and not unlikely a few months more... but things are not going well for russia. Would russia stumble upon common sense would it try to cut its losses and pull out from this war. Save the money, equipment and russian lives for another day instead of destroying all what is left of the russian military on this stupid war.

It is true that russians love him. Too bad for them that they will have to learn things the hard way then. Just like the Germans loved Hitler up until the day when Germany surrendered. But I disagree with you on anarchy. I think it would be an excellent thing. I hope for the Time of Troubles version 2.0. That would be awesome.

Its our way or the highway. What is there really anything we can or should compromise about? If someone breaks into your house, kills your dog and destroy paintings and furniture, and then he claims ownership over your living room should you give that barbarian anything? I think not. He should go to jail. And if that is not possible, then he should be outright killed on the spot. I think it is good that we steal all frozen russian assets and give them to Ukraine as a form of war reparations. I also think that the west should give the green light to an Ukrainian invasion of Transnistria - that could remove the russian military force which prevents democracy in that country, and the land strip could be a bargening chip in a peace negotiation. And Yes I absolutly think that the west MUST humiliate Russia. That is the only way they will learn to make peace with their neighbours and stop trying wars of aggression against their neighbours. Right now they can always try a war against their neighbours since there are no downsides of trying and only upsides - If you win a war you expand your land, and if you lose you don't have to pay anything.. no land ceded, no war reparations, no war criminals punished... All this has to stop. Russia should not be above the law. And we should destroy their grandious megalomaniac self-image they have of being more than anyone else. They should be treated just like any other country period. So if Russia goes out from this war with their money stolen, and with no land gained but only land in Transnistria lost, and being an international paria, embaressed for its military failings that could not prevent a loss of territory.. and a destroyed economy and military.. then Russias self-image has to change. They have to realize that they are not Superpower anymore. And thats the end of it. Russias history is filled with losing war after war. The lost 10 times more soldiers than the Finns, and Finland was able to keep their independence... but in Russian propaganda is the Winter war and Continuation war not portraid as humiliating lost wars for Russia. Same goes with their pathetic failures against Nazi-Germany and enormous losses, and that their country was saved by lend-lease is totally left out in Russian history books. And that Russia lost 19 out of 20 battles against Sweden in the Great Northern War is also something Russia likes to forget and only talk about the battle of Poltava. So it is therefore time that we in this war leave no doubt which side is the loser, and which side is the winner. Russia must suck it up that they lose this war and get humiliated. They need to wake up. Wake up like dumb child who think he is a great hockey player and musician because his mom told he so... but now that stupid child needs to hear the painful truth and find a new hobby that he actually got some talent for. The Russian people is like this child with an unreaslistic worldview. From education and from media have they been taught that russia is a great military power that have never lost a war, and never started any unjustified wars and had any evil intentions and commited genocide. I think it is time that russians learn that their military sucks. And that they should get another hobby than militarism. Fix their own economy in their 3rd world country, instead of destroying other countries for example...

Well if he is that rtarded then he is not a reasonable person, and then there is no point talking to him. He have already proven himself as unreasonable. He breaks promises, he systematically lies, he does not respect laws or written agreements. So then only military force is the option left. Russia could prove themselves to be a sane and humane people by removing Putain and sue for peace and save suffering on both sides. But I will not hold my breath expecting to see that. If Putain wanted to do the right thing in the current situation, then he would remove russian forces from ukraine, and after that ask for peace.

Russias economy is running out of savings. And when that happens must Putin resort to tax increases or inflation. And that will not be popular the next election. His military is running out of ammunition - both artillery shells and missiles so the ability of fighting this war is going away. Russia lose tanks faster than they can be built. And russias manpower is limited - unlike wests mountains of artillery shells. So if the west can hold out, I consider this war almost as a guaranteed victory for the west. So much money and weapons have been given to Ukraine that now have this war become a sunk cost for the west. A prestige project. It will be hard to just accept a loss. Indeed some fears that the EU might not survive such a blow. So the west will be firmly committed to an Ukrainian victory. Poland, Finland and the Baltics will firmly back Ukraine with rock hard determination. But I also suspect that Britain will remain a strong supporter, and Czechia, and Slovakia. In Sweden are 98% of the people strongly in favor of Ukraine according to opinion polls, so I don't expect Sweden to be among the first to abandon Ukraine.

This war is not about Russia and has never been about it. Right now it is about Putin. If he lose this war, then his career is over and he might get a trial as a war criminal, get forced into exile, or get murdered by a russian bloodthirsty shark like himself. So he wants to avoid that. He also have this ideological view that russia must be strong and never allow it to be humilitated. Dictatorships like Russia and China don't mind being seen as evil, and what scares them is to be seen as weak and unsignificant. A Chinese bot gets more offended about a "Made in China" joke about junk quality plastic toys, than he is about fact based arguments and moral indignation about severe human rights abuses against the Uighurs. And the same goes for Russia. The worst thing that could happen in their view would be that the west laughs at their incompetent outdated military and mockingly do not take their nuclear threats seriously. Being seen as bad guys making nuclear threats and terror bombing civilians on a daily basis are things that bothers them much less. Hencefourth do I think we should aim for a historical humiliation of Russia. Make them accept the unaccepatable: A humiliating defeat. Let them know that any attempts of Russian imperialism could lead to Russia getting worse off after the war than before it. That will make them think twice the next time they consider starting a war of aggression. The little child needs some spanking so it learns to know its place. It can do whatever it wants within its countries own borders. But if it tries to steal things from other kids, then it should have its teeths kicked in. And since empathy and sympathy are arguments which have obviously not worked on the Russian people to make them stop - as 90% of the Russians still supports this war of aggression and genocide. Like 90% of the Russians supported the war of aggression against Chechenya and theft of Crimea... So is my suggestion that we replace argument of sympathy and empathy with something else since they don't work on bullies. Empathy and sympathy works on normal people, but not on psychopaths like Putin who is prepared to make nuclear threats, a man who lies and breaks international laws, kidnaps childrens, and makes a hitman list over the Ukrainian intelligentia which he wants to murder to destroy Ukrainian opposition to Russias illegal occupation. So my suggestion is simple: We should not try to convince Russia with sympathy and empathy. We should force them to abide by international law and make them respect international borders by *fear*. Our superior military, economic strength and our diplomatic influence and soft power should be 100% dedicated to totally destroying Russia unless they back off.

Russian lies. Zelensky did even offer peace by promising to never join Nato, but Putin refused to accept that offer. Because this war was never about russia feeling threatened. This war was about stealing land from Ukraine and to install a russian puppet regime.

The average life expectancy of males is lower than that on Haiti. russia is poor 3rd world country, and in an industrial war against the 40 times larger economies of the west it will lose.

Its simple to make peace if the will exist: 1. Pull all russian troops out from Ukrainian territory. 2. Sue for peace.

I hope that people organize a boycot of russia if their government are not willing to do so. Here is Sweden did we succesfully bully Clermont-Ferrand into stop making blood money from doing buisness in Russia. And now are Modelez next on the lift of being bullied into submission, as grocery stores, hotels, airlines, and the state owned railway company have begun to boycot their products - and so have individuals like myself. One by one, should western companies leave russia. And if not voluntarily because it the right thing to do, so then involuntarily by consumer boycots. Either you stay in russia and make deals with mass murderers and russian fascists, or you leave them behind and do trade here in the west instead. It is really as simple as that. No more money should flow into the russian states coffers to pay for missiles that murders innocent ukrainian civilians. Everyone doing buisness with russia is an anti-western, pro-fascist traitor.

Reparations? - Easy, we just steal all frozen russian assets. And we can just nationalize and steal assets of russian companies in the west. And then can we hand over that money to Ukraine. It far from covering all the war damages done to Ukraine. But stealing 20% of russias GDP by simply stealing all frozen government money is still a lot of money.. and a good start. And war crime trials maybe have to wait before they happen. But for the sake of humanity it is important that we aknowledge that they should take place. That Mengele and Pol Pot never was punished for their evil actions are bad enough. Let's try to make this world more fair. By not allowing some to arbritrarily abuse their powers to kill other people, we do also protect ourselves by not allowing others to do the same to us. And we should not give up hope. Few people thought that Milosevic would ever face justice for his crimes, but one day did Serbia hand him over to Hague.

Few people think that this war will be over before Christmas. Ukraine might still have a chance to win, but it will take much time and the west needs to stick with Ukraine til the end, and not betray it with peace talks behind their back and then throw ukraine out to be eaten by the wolves. Once the Blue-yellow fly over Sevastopol again and Donetsk and Luhansk are under Ukrainian rule can the war end. But is a short war and a fast ukrainian victory likely? not really. russia have made enormous minefields that will take a long time to clear. It would be difficult for Nato to punch through that area and it would need masisve air power. For Ukraine its even harder as they lack air power. And attacking over open ground, over farmland with no cover against artillery fire will not be easy and not be cheap. Its difficult with armor. And impossible without it. But once Ukraine have managed to plough throw this sh*t, and managed to punch through the russian lines. Then the job of defeating the russians will be quite easy.

I don't mind seeing russia destroying itself in a civil war. On the contrary, I think we should try to support the weaker side in the civil war so the war gets prolonged and the destruction become maximized to russia never can pose any threat to its neighbours for futures to come. The EU should kick out all russian diplomats from its soil, and all diplomatic talk should instead be done with places such as Belgorods people republic and such.

We can just steal money from russia and use if for war reparations. Like we have done with their frozen assets in western countries and their oligarch money. We can also just nationalize russian companies here in the west, and let the profits be used to pay for war reparations in Ukraine. It would be nothing wrong with doing so, since russia have already nationalized and stolen assets from western countries in this war. So why shouldn't we not be doing the same? It is important that we set an example and do not let criminal regimes getting away with this kind of behaviour unpunished. Otherwise we will just see more of it in the future.
