Well Zelensky have made it clear that a regime change must happen before peace talks can begin. So USA trying to keep Putin in power makes no sense. Its like driving a car with one foot pushing down the break as hard as possible while the other is pressing the gas peddle as much as possible. You will not get any effective driving of the car. Just causing harm and wasting gas.

So if russia fails too badly in Ukraine, will China intervene to prop up its loser partner? Perhaps not like Hitler helped Mussolini in Albania, but more like massive military aid to russia that prolongs the war

Why do we in the west have to play russias mother and try to save her when she screws up? Just let her deal with the consequences of her own actions like anyone else.

@theredscourge Why sign a paper for American help, if all you do is pussyfooting as soon as some screams "nukes!"? Having a military alliance with USA is then as worthless as owning an umbrella that just falls apart as soon as it starts raining. Allies losing trust in America worldwide and moving away from her, is that in Americas best long term interest? That will make america weaker and other powers stronger. And one day will USA need others help to remain top dog in the world. But no one wants to be ally with Mr useless pussyfooting.

It doesn't seem like that. They just hope that russia one day come to their senses and realize that it is best to leave Ukraine, and then go home with a smile on their face. I do not think that will ever happen. At least not now. Putin needs to conquer land in a peace deal to save face. But that is simply unacceptable in my opinion. That is rewarding crime and will set a bad example for the future. And Ukraine naturally also opposes this suggestion for a good reason.

Germany and France recently voted for pro-russian nazis in the EU election. Southern Europe (Spain and Italy) does not care much about Ukraine. Slovakia, Hungary and Austria are pro-Russian. Belgium is also pretty pro-russian like France and Germany. Sweden, Denmark and the Baltics have already given away all what they have to Ukraine. Poland have become more half-assed in supporting Ukraine and do very little to stop the truckers from blocking the road. And Britain no longer got any Boris Johnson to help Ukraine. So I not expect any large aid packages from Europe. At best might they get more artillery ammunition in the future, and perhaps Poland could give a few of those thousands of vehicles they have bought. Norway and Finland could perhaps give a little more. While Spain, Turkey and Greece could give a few armored vehicles since they already have so many, and those they have are already so old that it could be sensible to replace them with something newer. Leopard1, M-60 Patton and Leopard2A4 are not exactly what I consider brand new tanks. So if the political will exist, then I believe that trading those vehicles for money, and then sending them to Ukraine would be possible. Then could those countries buy something more modern to replace them. However organising anything revolutionary that could tip the scale in Ukraine seems very unlikely to me. Even more unlikely now when Macron and Scholz are weaker than ever. I hope this does not lead to a permanent block of the shipments of Taurus to Ukraine and some well needed French weapons such as Caesar, Scalp and Mirage 2000.

Jake Sullivan have bad track record. Its time for him to realize that he should just resign.

Rather lacking any backbone. And being ignorant of history. We have already tried this stupid game theory nonsense in Vietnam and it didn't work.
