  1. I think Macron have his hands less tied than Scholz at the home stage. Scholz is battleing with upcoming elections in many German provinces where pro-russian AfD might win big victories so appeasing the Rusbots is a thing he might consider important to not lose votes to them. He is also battling pro-russian voices within his own party - the socialdemocrats. So his hands are a bit tied. While Macrons presidential powers are great and give him free hands to do what he wants. But then there are of course 30% of the French that totally oppose military aid to Ukraine, while 50% of the french people supports it. However it is in French geo strategic interest to fight the russian cancer in Africa, if France wish to keep influence in that continent. And indeed, think what you like about French colonialism.. but its certainly better than the russian alternative... just look at all crimes against humanity done by communism during the 1900s...
