@lancerevell5979 The Germans destroyed most of the T-34 tanks built under the war. Squire did say 80% of them went up in flames during the war. Furthermore, even if thousands were left, did most of those get sold of any many ended their days as burning wrecks in Korea and Israel. Crazy commy dictators would happily keep those relics, but the lack of spare parts would be a problem, altough it could probably be overcome by improvisation by a handy craftsman. Another problem is that those tanks were built according to Soviet quality standards. An engine was not built to last more than say 6 months, because that was the average time a Soviet tank survived in the war. So why then waste expensive materials and production time to make a good engine that lasts longer than those months? You could save both money and production time for a tank if you cut down production time to a minimum. Then you can build more tanks, and outproduce nazi-Germany. So that was what the Russians did. But after the war was it difficult to keep those tanks running. And add to that the problems of maintenance after the war, the rubber coating around all electric cables have problably dried up by now and all of them needs to be replaced. Spareparts are missing or have been stolen. So now decades after the war could Russia not find any T-34 tanks that it could drive on a parade to celebrate the end of World war 2. So the solution became that Russia imported some old T-34 tanks from Vietnam
