Calm down. I don't think anyone wants to downplay anything here. Had he wanted to do so, then I don't think he would have mention any crimes at all in his video. You behave like those easily offended holocaust survivors who screams "holocaust denial" all the time. I think of an angry survivor who got angry on a BBC reporter (or whatever) for saying something like "multiple families perished here at Auschwitz"... and he screamed like you do that they did not perish, they were MURDERED!! And sure he was right. But he behaved like a total jackass like you do. The reported had no intent of denying the holocaust. On the contrary, she documented the crimes the nazis did and condemned them. But because she happened to use a word that offended someone that was just ignored. I think that guy was an idiot. If you treat people who are your allies like this, then they have no willingness to help you in the future to uncover the truth and fight genocidal fascists. Things cannot get any more ungrateful than this. And I think it is ironic that I have to defend Simon Whistler here after all the rude things he have called me as a Brexiteer and a Trump supporter. But in this case he is right.

That country looked so promising in the late 1800s. And then came World War1 and destroyed its export oriented economy. It recovered somewhat after the wars, but then came incompent military dictators and Menem and turned the place into a 3rd world country. Sad.

@TheKeyser94 I think that he never intended to offend anyone. And I would not obsess about someone choosing the wrong word. And I think we can all agree that the dictators behind operation Condor was genocidal scum. And they were also incompetent at handling the economy. They were typical chock doctrine fascists. So they get no love from me.

@fransoler5278 Menem was a highly corrupt politician. Locking the value of your currency by linking it to the currency of another country is idiotic. It worked bad for Southern European countries in the EU. And it worked bad for Argentina. His corrupt regime privatized and sold off state owned companies to foreigners and Argentinians, so that Argentinians had to start paying over-prices for basic services. He was a follower of the Washington consensus, and thus he was a traitor to his own country.

"Rooky numbers." 200.000 dead in Operation Condor is a lot. Certainly would many more have died if they had no fled their countries. "how lucky has south America been to be blessed with such soft Dictatorships" Only a retarded fascist would think so. "The whole victim amount does not reach what soviets did" So what Pol Pot did was okay because he killed fewer people than Hitler? Your argument is retarded. "Socialists would have" Not everyone killed by far right Latin American dictatorships were Communists. Many were just unionists, socialdemocrats, regime critics and so on. So there was no justification for killing them. But I guess you are one of those right-wing tards who thinks that everyone slightly to the left of Pinochet is a Communist.
