Indeed. This story is also interesting because it shows us that it was possible for SS-men to reject participation in the dirty work without getting killed or severely punished as the myth goes. This man did the only right choice, while the others didn't - and calling those men moral cowards and weaklings would be a huge understatement.

@drsuperhero Churchill once said: "In the future, fascists will call themselves anti-fascists." And I hold that to be true. Orwell was also an anti-Communist who tried to warn people about Stalinism and leftwing extreme totalitarianism. And yes, the antifa are the modern day brownshirts. They are beating up people anyone who disagrees with them and not just white etno-nationalists. They have even beaten up milk-toast liberal politicians here in Sweden. And even if I too despise liberals I would never use violence against them. So yes, this use of violence against people who peacefully express their own opinions is what defines a fascist - and both antifa and Hitlers stormtroopers fit very well into that definition
