  5. The General exaggerates for the sake of the propaganda war, but there are much truth to what he says. The Russian military has not evolved much since WW2. And the Russian military was not even good by the standards back then either. Russia did escort truck columns with helicopters in the early stages of the war - which can be a lesson borrowed from the Americans, and it shows some competence. But in nearly every other instances do the Russian show incompetence and failure at everything... river crossings, combined arms warfare etc.
