  5. I would never had believed you if you said that 4 weeks ago. The country is flat like a pancake and got lots of farmland and nearly no forests for good defensive positions. The country is with other words ideal terrain for an invasion army, and especially so for a military with much tanks and planes. People who have read military history knows that the German Panzer armies prefered to fight here when the fought the Soviet union. It was here Hitlers panzer armies saw most action. But I was wrong. The Ukrainians have somehow managed to do a miracle and crush a mighty invasion army with only simple short range anti-tank and anti-aircraft missiles. And outnumbered army of untrained army of a dirt poor country. That is worth enormous amounts of respect. The Ukrainean army have won a badge of honour. Their resistance is as humilating to Russia as the winter war against Finland - a country which back then was the poorest country in Europe and lacked anti-tank weapons and had to invent molotov cocktails instead. Here do Ukraine do the same thing as Finland but without any winter snow.

  6. Z O V and such are signs used by the Russian troops. For whatever reason. Personally I would guess they are painting stuch things on top of their tanks and trucks so Russian planes would not drop bombs on them by mistake. Which often can happen in war, and especially in a war like this when both sides use Russian tanks and gund. Another reason to paint a white symbol on their vehicle is probably for commanders to know which tanks are theirs. The Germans painted symbols on their tanks when they invaded Russia. The tanks of General von Kleist for example had a white K painted on their back, and they had a nazi flag on top of their tanks so German aircrafts that was controlling the skies would not start bombing their own tanks.
