If I had a kid to educate today, it would be community college for two years and a state college or university for the remaining two.... and I get to veto stupid degree choices. In addition, summers and holidays will be spent earning and saving for expenses. Any less-than-acceptable grades showing up in the mail would end my participation in the endeavor and they're on their own.

  6. If liberals are worried about student loans, why don't they get their liberal millionaire college professors and administrators to work for free? If like they always say, "everyone deserves a free education", that would be a good place to start. Also, why is it that socialist educators want "free education" but are always negotiating for higher and higher salaries with more and more benefits?

  17.  @johnedisto6741  Then you have a beef with the school, NOT with the US taxpayer. Some students have even sued their colleges for worthless degrees, but then were they not able to look up the salaries of those useless degrees and do a little math? They are "college material" after all.

  19.  @johnedisto6741  No you didn't, I DID. That's one of the excuses you here former students use for wanting government loan bailouts... that they were somehow misled; hence, my comment. You said: "Yes, people accepted those loans, they were also lied to about the value of what they were getting." My point was that they should then sue the college and not expect taxpayers to bail them out, which many do. Clear now?
