Ten countries are queuing up to join the European Union. Hardly dying.

@TheMRJGREATJ Turkey is dying?

@TheMRJGREATJ I’m an Irish citizen and our population has grown by 8% from the last census. Peter basically said that we are not going to make it either. I contradicted everything he said in his Ireland video, with facts. Just facts, I didn’t argue with anyone.

@asdasdasddgdgdfgdg Turkey is both a potential economic powerhouse and currently a basket case. Before joining the European Union Turkey would first mean undoing anti human rights laws, enacting fiscal sustainability and standardisation of its industries. These are all important things and just basic good governance and stability. Good for everyone.

@TheMRJGREATJ the facts: The EU population is projected to increase from 446.7 million in 2022 and peak at 453.3 million in 2026 (+1.5 %), then gradually decrease to 447.9 million in 2050 and to 419.5 million in 2100. Source : Eurostat

@asdasdasddgdgdfgdg if we didn’t want them in and they don’t want to be in, why did they want to be in the process for joining the European Union as part of a deal to include Sweden in NATO? Basic facts.

@asdasdasddgdgdfgdg I say as a European Union citizen, when Turkey reaches the fiscal and every other standard it will be a great thing for everyone. I mean everyone.

@asdasdasddgdgdfgdg in the short term, it will not happen because Turkey does not meet the requirements set for membership. Not by a long shot. That is a fact. What Turkey actually does until they get their house in order is their own internal affairs. It’s that simple.

@TheMRJGREATJ for you, how long does it take for an immigrant to become Irish? Our law states that you can become a citizen after 7 years of residence.

@asdasdasddgdgdfgdg it does matter. 59% of EU-27 citizens are against Turkey joining the EU. Nearly all of that 59% of citizens (about 9 in 10) expressed concerns about human rights as the leading cause. I couldn’t agree more. I’ve been to Turkey, great friendly people who take their work seriously, they get 50-55 million tourists every year.
