  1. The British Empire was a business run by a few toffs. The British people were neither owners, beneficiaries or in the most part, participants in its execution. I am proud that members of my family of naval tradition were part of the machinery that dismantled the international slave trade. I am proud that my class voted in a government that dismantled the colonies and gave independence to the commonwealth nations. I am proud that my nation gave the idea of democracy,free speech and freedom of self to a vast chunk of the world. If anyone has a problem with Britain, then don't come here, and the ports are all open if you want to leave. If however, you do come here to live, whatever you identify as and whatever reason you want to leave your birth country, you are welcome on this island . All you need to do to be one of us, is to accept us for what we are . We are the most mongrel race of people on earth. Our DNA comes from every brave, adventurous race on earth. Anyone brave enough to come here is good enough to be here. Anyone good enough to be here should be proud to be one of us
