  1. The past is not only immutable it is absolutely essential to have it accurately recorded. On the issues of colonisation and slavery, it is as important that our descendants understand what really happened. Who did it and why. I believe if the general population are not taught that the elites of all countries enslaved the poor and disadvantaged, and treated human beings like livestock and chattel. The aristocracy did this to us. Although nobody in this country was actually a slave, we were once surfs and technically still are. We also had to endure appalling poverty for centuries. However, when the general population found out about the slave trade we the people made it stop, and we the people enforced the ban. We the people then rose up and formed unions. United we the people are a powerful, the most powerful force. We the people are the only other group. The only them and us is the people v the dominant elites and we the people are the oppressed majority. Regardless of any identity you wish to choose, unless you know that you are an elite, then your true identity is one of us, the people.
