Following complaints about Solomon’s conspiracy-mongering, The Hill decided to move him to become their Head of Video, in which capacity he oversaw the creation of The Hill’s new web-TV political show, ‘Rising’. Solomon hired Krystal Ball as one host, the other was Saagar Enjeti. Previously Enjeti worked at the Daily Caller, the conservative news outlet founded by Tucker Carlson and well-known for its right-wing bias. In hiring these two, Solomon knew that he had the perfect tag team to attack the Democratic Party; in cruder terms, Enjeti and Ball were two cheeks of the same extremist backside. Ball would attack the Democratic Party and its leaders from the putative perspective of a progressive, Enjeti from the perspective of the far-right.

You call people corrupt ? check it out, dummy This article, “Is Krystal Ball’s PAC a fresh approach or a get-rich quick scheme?” from McClatchy is a very good overview, however even more has come to light in the time subsequent to when the article was written in May 2018. In calendar year 2018, the People’s House Project raised a very respectable $630,000 from donors who wanted to assist and contribute to progressive candidates. In fact, the PAC disbursed a mere $140,000 to progressive candidates, many of whom received contributions of $1,000 or even less. Fully $490,000 was spent on “Other disbursements”, of which a significant portion went into Krystal Ball’s own pockets. We do know that as of mid-2018 she had already paid herself at least $174,000 as salary. In October 2018, when the People’s House Project ran its payroll for the month, Krystal Ball paid herself another $15,000 as can be seen in these FEC documents here. A payment of $14,500 was processed to Ball, but apparently this wasn’t enough or it was a mistake, and she paid herself a further $500. At one point in early 2018, Ball processed a weekly payroll for herself, on 10th January, 2018 she paid herself $5,000. Just eight days later on the 18th January, she paid herself a further $6,500 and on the 26th another $4,000. In just a little over two weeks she paid herself over $16,000.

There is a reason John Solomon hired her to front The Hill’s web-TV presence. It wasn’t because she is a good progressive who will honestly critique and discuss American politics, it’s because she can be trusted to always adopt the narrative that will divide the Democratic Party, attack any Democrats who have a real chance of winning elections, and support the Trump narrative. As far as the evidence goes, the only difference between Gabbard and Ball is that while Gabbard is a true believer, Ball will adopt whatever line her paymaster demands. She will dance to John Solomon’s tune because that is what she is being paid to do. Her record of shameless grifting and funneling hundreds of thousands of dollars from sincere progressives who w anted to support left candidates into her own pockets, and her subsequent track record working under John Solomon and spending her time tag-teaming Democrats with Daily Caller alum Saagar Enjeti, tells you everything you need to know about her politics, her priorities and her values.

She was also a long-time contributor to various mainstream media outlets like MSNBC. She has always claimed to have a progressive political bent, especially when it comes to money in politics, but in fact her actions show her to be a profoundly corrupt and cynical individual. In 2017, she created a Political Action Committee (PAC) called the People’s House Project. It was ostensibly a vehicle to channel donations to progressive candidates in Democratic primaries and congressional elections. While a laudable goal in and of itself, Ball’s subsequent conduct showed that in fact she repurposed it as a vehicle to channel cash from well-meaning donors into her own pockets."
