  1. Yeah - you only get your twenties once, and it is a shame to waste them. Just entering my 50s and I can save more every year than I earned in my 20s and I have a lot of surplus income. The other thing is that work can actually become more fun when you become more senior. You do less of the shit, more guidance and leadership etc. I’m not planning on working after I’m 60, but I do want a good retirement. That being said, start your pension early. It’s definitely worth it.

  2.  @mikefixescars  interesting - thanks for posting. It still seems amazing that you could retire in your 30s on a fairly average salary. How long were you saving for, what was your annual saved amount, and what was your wealth when you retired? Also, what is your annual expenditure now? I don't buy expensive things, but I'm also not mean to myself - I have a Netflix account, even though it means I would need to work a day or two longer than strictly necessary.

  3. I follow a FIRE Reddit sub out of interest. Essentially you have to live in poverty while working so that you can RE and live in poverty for the rest of your life. In the UK you can achieve this lifestyle by never working at all and living off state benefits, if you don’t mind poverty.
