  1. What’s the economics of this? I would have thought it would be more economically efficient to maintain/service/upgrade community/grid level energy storage than individual household batteries. All the trades and service people, delivery of resources and materials, all to a few sites across a region. Less transport costs. Less travelling salesman problems. Probably more cost effective bulk energy storage solutions available too. Better use of peoples time and our natural resources.

  2. I want a battery because it’s cool to have one. Makes me feel like I’m doing something positive. But that’s the marketing doing it’s job. However, it’s not an individual’s job to manage and regulate the power grid. The only reason someone would really need a battery is if they had solar and getting a really bad rate for the energy they didn’t use. I’d prefer if government/industry would provide affordable solutions. Surely bulk power generation and energy storage would be a more efficient use of a nations labour and resources than individuals tackling the problem and the corresponding industry around that.
