As a millennial parent, imagine letting a child use social media.

@epicgamner1139 for many it's easier than parenting i guess.

depending on when you were born, 24 is far from a child. i considered myself an adult at 14. I had a job, had a girlfriend (i was doing adult things with), no curfew, partying, driving.

@viviennecampbell565 maybe you failed math, by his numbers some of you are 7 or 10 years old op to 25. The median if 10 is the youngest is 17.5 and if you count gen z as low as 7 would be, 16. population is on the rise, so yeah.. You're wrong. Don't be all butt hurt, wasn't calling all of you kids.

@LC-ng7hw It's hard to get younger Gen Z, everything is some inside joke based off of a 4 second snippet or a meme. Then there are the school shootings, something is wrong when an entire generation seems to have multiple school shootings a year. Gen X and boomers having kids in their 50's made a lot of real messed up kids. Everything seems to be about who can be the gayest now and worship anime. Nothing wrong with gay people or anime, just seems tik tok and insta have made it a competition to outdo each other.

@milopt.352 It's mostly people that feel they have been wronged by society as a whole from what i see. I'd say the biggest culprit is bullying in schools, at home and in the workplace. People are mean to one another, many times for no reason. Sometimes to be the cool kid. If more people were kind to one another and maybe had lunch with the loners of life every once in a while and genuinely tried to just be a nice person, it would be different for sure. Not justifying these actions are OK, just think that some people end up feeling alone and have resentment and maybe have never had anyone help them learn to channel their emotions into a better hobby, or even better not have resentment in the first place if people would just be nice and stop judging each other based on attractiveness or wealth or intelligence. Had some guys at a job i worked at harass this dude every day and call him names and tape him to poles and stuff. tried talking to him and they started saying stuff like we were gonna be gay together. Dude killed himself shortly after. People are just so mean.

@dislikecounter6392 guess you never watched any kids movie ever either. I’m not gay, but people like you that think you’re being funny by saying edgy mean shit are the reason humanity will fall.

@deepspacecow2644 Well at 14 i had no problem driving a car and working. at 16 tested 2nd year college level education. Being done growing and being an adult are 2 different things.

There is a sect of Gen Z that is offended by everything and can't take any joke. Side Shaves.
2
@thomasweinmann9729 Millenials raged against the machine. Z can't get enough of the corporate machine and worship things like saweetie and mcdonalds.

@kr_sh_ I was a child when i was a child. I think too many teens and young adults still think they are children. By your teens you should be contributing to society, really what time would you be more useful to a business than when you're young, heal fast, and have your peak hand eye coordination and reactions skills?

Better than getting shot at school.

@dianeyoung8130 It would probably get in the way of trying to get likes on social media for staged photos.
1
@gelato420x they’ll get prayed upon by pedos. Sometimes the lesson you learn is too late and you end up dead in a ditch or molested. It would be nice for sure, but most kids and young teens don’t realize how much damage they can do.
1
@ranjanbiswas3233 say no, don’t buy them a phone. Teach them morals.

@dreamofsprings And the other half?
1
@dreamofsprings and what would we call those people?
1
@dreamofsprings Make me bro!!

@HazeLmao imagine thinking that maybe some people raise a trustworthy honest person. Imagine some parents raising children that can tell their parents anything and the parent just attempts to help the situation. Children is one thing and teens are another though. The shit I was doing at 14 most haven’t done til they are in their 20’s if ever. I was a kid too, thing is my parents didn’t give a shit about me and I ran the streets doing absolutely anything I wanted. Never had a bed time, ran away for weeks at a time. You name it.

@abarbienamedken3334 14 and 7. The 14 year old was allowed to and abused it. Still kinda sneaks on some sites like discord. The 7 year old hasn’t been allowed to go onto any of those site. My only tip would be never let them use it. It’s damaging, addictive and when you take it away you’re the bad guy. If they never have it they won’t miss it.

So the side part was so people could show they aren't like everyone else. Now all of you have side parts, it isn't rebellious or different or edgy, it's pop pretty much. most millennials i know are anti pop.

More like a boomer republican capitalist. They know if we joined forces, we could shut this all down. Just need to keep refusing to work for scraps.

@Oo. there’s a difference between buying stuff you need like shoes and clothes and beverages and all out worshipping stuff and people. Everything is the Goat now, it’s quite pathetic.
1
@zyuranger21 Boomers tried as hard as they could to lock the door because they abused everything they got their hands on. Worst generation ever.
1
@Oo. sorry but I don’t agree. Many didn’t do their part but things like supreme and Kanye’s ugly shoes and $400 sweatshirts with nothing written on them are all newer millennial garbage. Paris Hilton, the kardashians. Those people aren’t gen z but gen z is who feeds into them. Seems kids now love hype bs and “flexing” more than ever before. The corporations are kinda who to blame, I just see gen z as being exploited more I guess. Would make sense just based on social media plus population growth. Not sure too many millennials are running anything, most I know can’t and will never be able to afford a home.

@Oo. so who is the axe wielding psycho and the victim in said analogy? Doesn’t fully line up. As I stated it isn’t totally their fault, nor was it millennials. Part of the problem though that makes it even worse for them is social media, especially tik tok and all the other things that try to cram info into 15 second videos. They are victims, but millennials aren’t holding the axe for sure. We have the benefit of wisdom and seeing what social media had become over time. Sure if it was available when we were young we’d be in the same boat, but it wasn’t and therefor won’t permanently effect us psychologically as much as it will them. The brainwashing has only gone deeper as we learn more and more about how the brain works. Also while we had Ritalin pushed on us, they have Adderral which keeps you going harder longer to make more money for the machine. Plus energy drinks, and if that wasn’t enough booze energy drinks. They are “worse” in a sense, because they have it worse. Being a teen in the 90’s was amazing, I kinda feel bad for the reality my teen daughter is living. I think a lot of what you’re putting on millennial is gen x.
