James Acaster has a funnier bit about how comedians making fun of trans people is lazy and stupid, it's much better and smarter than anything Dave said on the topic.

He doesn't know anything about Trans people, he's factually wrong about them and ignorantly repeated unintelligent bigotry. I won't try and convince you since you just admitted to not being able to be convinced and are "a troll at heart" which is just a smug way of saying you're an asshole. It's okay, you're allowed to be wrong. But no one is outraged, people are just sick of ignorant bigotry being excused as lazy comedy. If Dave wants to make poignant statements about people then he should do the bare minimum of knowing what he is talking about first, at the very least he should stick to what he knows and try to be funnier about it.

Just because he didn't expressly call for violence doesn't mean that what he said won't cause harm or lead to violence, statements aren't magically devoid of harm just because they are technically non violent. It was bigotry. It was factually incorrect and it wasn't even funny. Either say something meaningful and true or tell funnier lies, he failed at both. You seem to act like not caring about how other people feel is somehow impressive?   23.  @MothmanCold  Learn to read dude, I never said he didn't have any right to talk about it, I said he should do the bare minimum of actually learning about it before he tries to wax philosophical about it. Chappelle show was satire, it's goal was to be funny, not to be smart. Some of it may have been offensive to some but that's not the issue, it never has been. His latest special is not just him trying to be funny, he's trying to be smart and make a point. I'm all for that, but if you try to do that and just perpetuate ignorance abd bigotry then people are going to call that out. THAT'S WHAT FREE SPEECH IS. It isn't freedom to say anything you want without consequences or feedback. I'm not drawing a line about what people can of can't say and when. But if you speak about a community that you know nothing about then that community is obviously going to call you out on the parts that are ignorant and harmful, that's how it's always worked, now marginalized communities are able to have their voices heard without having to get famous first. This is free speech, it applies to everyone, comedians don't have special privileges. If you say something incorrect then people are going to tell you. That's how it works. Dave can say whatever he wants. But he isn't going to be congratulated for it if he fails to be funny or say something meaningful and true. There were some funny moments in the special. But when his jokes on trans people are no funnier or better informed than ones you could read on 4chan then it's clear he dropped the ball. Dave used to be hilarious and surprising, at times poignant. Now he may as well be reading bad jokes from the internet.

  32. Trans people make fun of themselves all the time and often have incredibly dark senses of humor. Dave wasn't trying to Just be funny, he was trying to make a point and since he's ignorant and wrong about trans people it was neither funny nor a well made point. There's nothing to get, he was trying to be smart but he was wrong, so he's being criticized for pushing incorrect harmful narratives about a marginalized community and not being particularly funny in the process.
