I'm betting this conversation happened at least 10,000 times on Tumblr throughout those ten years, and each time took this long.

The only catcalling I would respect is someone getting cats to move toward me.

@MBrulla More like, "pspspspsps"

If it were entirely about experiencing trauma and pain at the hands of men, a huge amount of men would be women. News flash, that isn't the case.
55
@CatFish107 Unless the thing oppressing you is in fact repressing you, in which it can be from all directions at once.
43
It was only a matter of time before some people realized that humans are highly deficient in the bodily-fur department.
43
I have had way too much experience with condescending people telling me what I'm allowed to do to ever be able to take orders without reason. I will only accept guidance in the form of suggestion.

Get a hobby. Getting into Unix/Minix/*nix/*nux is something you can do without leaving your computer, and it's educational. It's also really fun to yell at Microsoft.
19
That's sorta what capitalism was meant to do. Now that capitalism is exclusive and gated, the common men have no way of defining worth outside of romance.

@connorp3030 While it is true that some systemic discrimination does exist, it is in its early stages, and has yet to become virulent, unlike the systemic discrimination faced by other groups. While with historically oppressed groups, systemic discrimination feeds cultural discrimination, with men it is the other way around—cultural discrimination feeds systemic discrimination. This is similar to the forms of widespread discrimination faced by Black people in the Reconstruction period in the South, before the process of discrimination began to feed into itself. Thus, it is not yet as big of a problem as the others. Not to mention that said systemic discrimination that does exist is not yet universal and is still confined to a few set fields. It is still a problem, but it's not the most urgent one yet.

Expatriate to France, become dedicated to art, wear quirky clothes, repatriate.
17
@fjejdhdnwhjfifjeheyd Then why don't you care about "heterosexual" or "binary"? It's the same idea.
14
I'm open to organizing a second Woodstock if there are any takers
14
Maybe this is why men like to park right next to wherever they're going.

Also #BringBackElevatorMusic

@derpyllama1857 She didn't say that you had to leave, so if you want you can awkwardly stand in the corner and watch the presentation.
10
@nyft3352 I was just saying that with your body type and face you would make a decent French philosopher or artist, and you'd have something that others could recognize you for.

@StigmataMartyrz In fantasy they can actually be a different species which is neither human nor cat, although possessing the stature of a human and cat ears and a tail. In that case, the meowing is just a speech affectation due to the shape of their mouths. But in real life, some people just like the idea.
8
@SinMore Yeah, the term doesn't make much sense to me either, especially since it only refers to Anglo-American culture, and yet applies to all of Europe and the Americas. Not to mention that there being a West implies that there is also an East.

@sazhaxeramezha449 Can we agree that politics is a matrix? You can be libertarian and leftist, and you can be authoritarian and leftist. That doesn't make anyone less leftist. You can believe in the use of capitalism to further leftist goals, and you can believe that capitalism doesn't work at all, or that it should be contained to where it can't be used for change. Neither strategy is more or less leftist; they're just different ways of accomplishing the same thing.
8
Thank you for your work, sir. You were part of a dedicated team who laid the groundwork for our society today, and for that, I commend you.

The neckbeards are annoying sometimes (but some of them can be pretty nice, passionate people who just look like that), so much that I'm thinking of changing the name of my operating system from Fedora Linux to Bowler Linux.
7
@potmki6601 And the great thing about using a platform made up entirely of pre-recorded video is that you only have to volunteer your efforts once, and then you can move on to other topics. Whenever you want to de-radicalize someone, just send them a link.

@Chaosdude7111 Except Kronk is actually a smart man; he was just told all his life that he shouldn't be. Kronk knows what he wants in life, and how to make people like him. It's just his inner voice of his father and his longing for satisfaction that's holding him back. He is a brilliant chef and social worker, who was never given the opportunity to explore that potential except by those who wished to manipulate him.

@cedar4539 speaking Gaelic helps too

Superman?

Not to mention the large amount of men who want both
6
I mean, they made football into a gentleman's game.

@connorp3030 Feminism is not one movement; if it were then feminist ideology would be the rule of the day by now. There are multiple feminist philosophies, ideologies, sets of ideals, and belief systems. Most of them are very broad, wishing only for the most basic of changes, furthering the goal of only equality. However, a small minority tends to take it a little bit far, some going so far as to make generalizations and dehumanize their perceived enemy. I myself believe that about 99.99% of feminists would sign on to the resolution of men's issues. However, some only see that 0.01% who have been scarred beyond repair and have given up on equality in favor of revenge. I think the feminist movement can accommodate a more positive inclusion of men. And anyone who protests this change should take their own advice and deal with the fact that times are changing.
6
@icarvs_vivit Except he's not. He was just only given the opportunity to explore his passion for cooking and social work by people who wished to manipulate him. In reality, he's a brilliant chef, talented marketer, and well-meaning social worker.
6
I think he would like ContraPoints videos. They're informative, unapologetic, sarcastic, and understanding of the audience.

Gay does mean happy after all.

I mean, maybe if you gain a bit of weight, laugh at everything, get a really interesting hobby, and develop a highly refined taste in beer, people will see you as less dangerous. But it's still unlikely.
4
You can reach similar levels at a much lower effort by using bath salts and a type of desk that attaches to the bathtub so you can use sentitive electronics without fear.
4
@Sl1mch1ckens I myself an American, left-leaning, and capitalist. I believe that capitalism can be used in and of itself as a method of creating equity through prosperity that gives itself back. Does my support of the use of existing infrastructure to further leftist goals make me any less leftist? No. It makes me a libertarian leftist.
4
I mean, a large amount of sexist judgement is perpetuated by other women. That doesn't mean women aren't victims of societal demands.
4
Do people even actually care what sign is on the bathroom door beyond force of habit?
4
@MaggieKleppe I feel that the problem is not that most men are, but that most men have the potential to be. I mean, you don't just pour testosterone into a body and expect nothing to happen.
4
@goldfishpainter_emi I find the best way to get masculine men to sign on is to make it seem masculine. How about, "competitive venting"?
4
@me2117 Can't we just agree that war sucks for everyone involved?
4
Tbh the books aren't all that good. The concept is interesting, but Rowling never does anything with it beyond everything Tolkien already did, and the seventh book is just frantically adding plot points because all the points already made were thought to be resolved when they could have worked perfectly well. The rest of Book 7 is boring exposition and predictable suffering for no reason. I've been mad about it for years.

Snape wasn't a bigot. Snape was a radical non-bigot who was pretending to be a bigot in order to spy on his enemies, in order to contribute to the Dumbledorean cause.

I aspire to be a Jitsite.
3
Would it specialize in unusual food textures?
3
I can't go back to them because now I know how badly written they are. They're meant for kids, I know, but they could have been so much more interesting to read, but instead fall into literary tropes again and again, just to support a plot that didn't need to exist if only Rowling had just decided to take advantage of the potential of the premise.

@justasquid8930 I'm saying that euphoria and dysphoria are related, but they are not the same sensation. You can experience one without the other, and they are opposites. In the case of this comment, imo a more accurate statement would be that not only is dysphoria integral to the experience, but euphoria is also a key part.

Humans tend to ally best when they're allying against something. Maybe ol' JK been playin' the long game this whole time.

If there is no equality, there will always be a fight to see who's on top. And when there's constant flip-flopping of class structure, there is constant violence to carry it out. So why not have equality?

If you wanted protection, advocate for more single, lockable, unisex bathrooms! Or maybe some unused rooms!
