  1. I'd rather it does the inverse, where an LCD is layered over an e-paper panel and provides color when turned on. The LCD could have a lower resolution to save money, with a togglable hi-res grayscale mode.

  3. I'm a little less concerned about the glue and more about the fact that there's no frame above the hitch. A truss needs to distribute all axes of force across the whole structure. Transverse strength is not a strong suit of any material (although cast metal has no primary grain axis so it should be slightly less of a problem), especially in beam shape.
