Ian, You are a great analyst but it seems obvious to me that Pelosi's trip to Taiwan could be called the Biden torpedo of provocation to the middle kingdom's threat to vaporize the Speaker of the House's plane or something like that or start the invasion two-weeks early... Let's face it President Xi has made enough trial runs that even his top generals are starting to wonder if he means it. So; what if the great lady's plane sets down on a Taiwanese runway? I think Pelosi knows she has to go otherwise the USA looks like its shining Xi's footwear in the eyes of the world. Something's got to give; but the USA cannot let China dictate policy. This is not checkers this time; it's chess and checkmate if Xi takes the bait and let's the tanks roll in.
