  1. Ian, as far as the Afghanistan situation is concerned, I think you have said it right--- it's an unconscionable disaster. But I don't think America should be blamed for leaving after 20 years. You can't help people for ever because then they lose a sense of fighting for their own land. Look at the Ukrainian men and women fighting to the last man and last woman to save their land from being swallowed up whole by a superpower! What I am asking you Ian is where are the Afghanistan men? What are they doing? How can they sit back and let their women become reduced to child-bearing females? I am furious to think that we have seen no backlash from Afghanistan's men against the Taliban's mistreatment of their women. This proves I'm right in that if after 20 years of blood and treasure spent by your government to help these people get on the same page as the rest of the world, and the moment good 'ole Uncle Sam goes packin' the country falls apart, then so be it. You can't help someone if they don't want to be helped. If the Afghanistan men are willing to let a parasitic group of religious fanatics turn their country into a men's club, then all the king's men and all the king's women can't do anything to help them.
