  1. James, you are pushing your envelope a little by reminding us over and over that you have been over 3 times the depth of the Titanic. You are finally the star in your own movie---and deservedly so. Who hasn't enjoyed at least one of your fabulous films! Who has ever gone to the bottom of the Mariana trench? No one but James Cameron! But let's be real: money is the real reason that skipper chose to go down with his high-paying passengers because it costs a fortune to make a normal mini-sub let alone a deep diving submersible. The cost factor and a lousy spring made jumping to the gun the only way to plug the gap between the company going broke or getting enough money to carry on operations. To say that it was unnecessary and irresponsible is pure nonsense: as humans, some of us will always go the whole 9 yards no matter what the odds are against reaching one's goal or how good the equipment is. We have built in sensors that dampen the risk factors in our heads when high adventure lies ahead, because we are a race of explorers.
