  1. The victors write history. How can we believe the Greeks and the Romans would write good things about the Phoenicians? The library of Carthage was burned to the ground, the city razed, the inhabitants massacred. We'll never know what the Phoenician people really lived like. It doesn't make sense that such an advanced people would be sacrificing their children unless perhaps, like the Trojans, they sacrificed children which were handicapped or ill or disfigured. The plain simple truth of the matter is that we cannot take the word of the Phoenicians' enemies.
