Dear Dr Campbell, I live on the continent and I know we are losing people, but seeing what you are dealing with in the UK takes one’s breath away. We have to realize that front-line health workers have been at war with the virus for almost a year. And it looks like they aren’t going to be getting a break for as long as we can see. What is hard to understand is how the virus has managed to get everywhere and how it keeps mutating. There is nothing we can do except be cautious, but that doesn’t help the thousands who are in ICU units around the world.
