Dear Dr Campbell, I live down the road from the Verbier ski resort and what is incredible is that these people who were ordered to remain in quarantine are in one of the finest ski resorts in the world. They would have been able to live in upmarket quarters, eat excellent food, have the most beautiful surroundings one could dream of , and probably be able to ski every day. Not only that they would be forgiven back home for not being able to go back to England. But this is herd mentality in the wrong way. This is the rule of the mob. And we all know what happens when mob mentality takes over. It's too bad, because if the new variant takes hold in Switzerland and France, and it's looking more and more probable, then that means the new variant is going to circulate in other countries. It's madness the way this pandemic has been handled from day 1. We've just heard that a journalist who reported the Wuhan virus in China has just recieved a 4 year prison sentence! This is off-the-charts in a civilized world. Here we have someone reporting on a deadly outbreak of a virus that would cover the entire planet and instead of being touted as a hero, he's been sent to jail! It's absurd!
