This is a wake-up call. How I wish all the water we are getting this summer could go in Lake Meade, but we can see that the jet stream is functioning in a way that leaves high pressure areas hanging on for months---and in our case in central Europe, the opposite. What is hard to understand is why there is not a plan B, plan C and plan D where you are in water-deprived areas. Japan sends tankers to Lake Superior for drinking water; why not do the same for Phoenix and Tucson? It's obvious that Lake Meade has surpassed a tipping point. The water will now go down drastically---like a bathtub with the last part of the water getting siphoned out the fastest. What we must do is revvie water displacement projects like the Roman Acquaducts. Water rich areas must send their water to water-poor areas like the American west. There must be a Secretary of Water Management in the US government, because what you are experiencing needs the top brains in the world to solve this crisis.
