  1. We must not let our emotions get away from us and criticize Sergei Lavrov for what he says. He cannot go off-script and contradict his boss for even the slightest thing. He goes on television as says what he has been told to say or else. I am saying this because it is no use to verbally attack spokespersons for authoritarian regimes, they must do what they're told to do and say or they can lose their jobs or worse. The nuclear option is the Russian ace-in-the-hole and it has worked like magic for decades and if they're talking about it in the first week of the war, you know they are worried. Up until now when anyone throws out the nuclear card, the jackpot is yours every single time. This time however, there is a spectre of more than nuclear war covering Europe; this time there is the spectre of losing our sense of being in the human community at stake. We can no longer think as if we are from one place or country, we have to think of what benefits all of us. This means we have to re-assess the way we have constructed the world governments and ask ourselves what is the best way to mover forward. The Ukrainian/Russian war is indeed a window of opportunity if we want it to be, but we have to play our cards like never before.
