Pat, either being across the world gives us an entirely different perspective than you have or I don't add up the numbers like you do---admittedly, you are at ground zero as far as politiicians are concerned, but Gavin Newsom would make a very good American president and I am almost certain he will be elected to The Oval Office one day. I also believe Adam Kisinger---the ousted Senate Republican Senator----would do a fine job. There are great political leaders waiting for the chance to make a try for the presidency. What former President Donald J. Trump's attraction for American MAGA voters defies understanding, although charisma this man has got and that is something that gets people hooked and star-struck more than having a good plan for the country more and probably more than anything else. Biden is getting flack for his age, but I believe I have the solution to bury that in a hurry: Biden should raise the retirement age to, say, 92. This would of course infuriate people looking forward to morphing into couch potatoes at 65 or so, but then Biden could say he's got ten more years before he's too old to run for president.
