  1. Lex, I don’t know if you give stamps or coupons or something for the first person to hit the like button, but yep, it was l’il o’ me. The reason I think alien spacefarers would be appalled at the present and past Earth civilization is because of our goal system. The first thing they would notice is that a superior class of beings ruled the roost. The beings in power collected tiny bits of paper (money) or yellow metal (gold) etc. They would see that on our planet, practically from the moment we---especially---boys are old enough to understand what it means to be rich or poor, that our parents tell us to make money. Money is what drives the beings on our planet. I think the aliens would see this is the reason our species is teetering on mutual self-destruction, because making money is so important it has blinded us, stopped our entire civilization from making sure the planet we live on is ecologically sound. Capitalism for all its high marks really has us looking the wrong way for the wrong things and it is the wrong way to run the world for most of the population of the Earth.
