We must always keep this in mind about Sir Isaac Newton. When he became president the the science foundation, a colleague named Robert Schock (sp) told everyone that Newton had stolen some of his research ideas. Then Schock conveniently died as Newton took over the duties of president and the first thing he did was to burn Schock's lifetime of notetaking---all of his research notes up in flames. Newton had 17 portraits painted by 17 artists which tells me he knew he was going to be famous and he wanted to make sure there was a good picture of him. But I cannot help but thinking that maybe Newton is not the person who came up with ideas that are attributed to him. Thanks to him burning Schock's notes, we'll never know.

@TheJazzper1970 GGGGGGGGGGGGreat to hear from you. Could you give us what your research is based on? I have taken mine from a BBC documentary of Newton. They said in the documentary that Newton had Hooke's notes destroyed the minute he became president of the so and so society---I don't remember the name. Newton had 17 self-portraits painted of himself which showed he knew he was going to be famous. Hooke was reported to have claimed Newton stole some of his ideas---it was from the documentary.
