  1. Lex mystifies the discussion of AI when he says that some robotic machines beg you not to turn them off, some can fell pain. Are you kidding me? Already, we have silicon brains uttering thoughts and feelings as if they were living beings? Let's stop right here, because Manolis, Lex, doesn't this really shine a light on the fact that all life forms must be conscious? For cryin' out loud, if we can build a silicon machine that elicits feelings in a lab, then surely all the living forms around us have a certain degree of consciousness simply because they have had millions of years of evolution. What AI may end up doing is being able to decipher the feelings of, say, a mosquito one day and cause parents to discipline their children into not swatting the darn thing and letting the mosquito have some of their blood because they don't drink much and their feelings would be hurt by losing an uncle on a night out at the campground...
