I have a handicapped child who is confined to a special residence the rest of her life. One day on the train, I asked a priest why? Why did this happen? Why did God let this happen? He said, "They ( handicapped people) seem so happy in the world they live in, so God has provided them a place to live in peace and happiness". I am paraphrasing, but I what I came away with is that the Church has no idea why God allows people to be handicapped and how could it? Nature doesn't say being handicapped is wrong, nature simply allowed it to happen because the laws of chance are even out of its bounds.

@amac7834 GGGGGGGGreat to hear from you. Religion was invented to unite tribes and then to have power over people. God is a concept we all ponder upon. We'll know the answers to many, many questions and I am sure we will all be surprised, because when we die that is when we will see what all the fuss was about. Until then, it's ever man for himself.
