With respect, Lex, what no one is saying or talking about is the slaughter of so many young Russian soldiers and how this is also an unspeakable tragedy that Russia will have to digest in the years to come. What Putin doesn't understand is that young people in Russia are like young people everywhere: they want to live in their virtual world and be absorbed in their screens. They could care less adding another time zone and another patch of land to the mighty Russian empire. Now, on global TV we see what is really going on. We see them parachuting out of downed aircraft or running away from a blown-up tank, or getting blown to smithereens in tanks and assualt vehicules. The thing that comes home to me is that they look like the neighbor's kid next door. These are guys with the latest hair cuts and looking like they live on Sunset avenue. Nothing can justify the terrible loss of Ukrainian men and women and children, but what President Putin of Russia has done is taken a bite out of the Ukrainian BLT sandwhich they have sent to him about his troops: busted, licked and trounced.
