  1. Robots will have a consciousness, but it will be on the limits of their physicality. Compare it to the scale of music. For humans, the scale of music works because it is tuned to our consciousness which in turn has been formed using the limits of our minds’ various processes. Robots will have another dimensionality to their musical scale---if indeed music will be necessary for them to exist. Since robots will have every part of them mechanical i.e. machine or laboratory-made, their consciousness will be tuned to the attributes that come from innate matter. Humans have souls and robots may well have ‘constructed’ soul-presences that reflect their reality but their consciousness will always come from the oak-cask so-to-speak of the workshop from where they were conceived and constructed. But humans will never lose out to robots or abandon our fragile physical nature, because although we will be robot makers, we will never abandon our own flesh for synthetic fibers or let go of the finest machine the universe has ever made: the human being and the human body.
