  1. What is most frightening about a cult or an organized religion or even an autocratic regime is that it's all about falling in, marching in step to someone else's drum beat other than one's own. This creates a crowd mentality and that is where humans cut off from their own true instincts and abandon common sense and become slaves to the party line. They consciously walk over hot coals if their leader demands it and for his blessings, they have no qualms in perpetrating all sorts of things on innocent people that don't accept their new mindset. When these people sign away their humanity and join a cult where movie stars they admire speak volumes of, what happens is that they are often more than willing to sacrifice friendships or leave loved ones or worse in order to be accepted by their leader or to stay true to the belief system more often than not assembled from alternative facts or recycled trivia that they have sold their souls to be a part of.
